The operating room lights burned above Sarah’s face.
Machines beeped steadily around her.
Doctors in masks moved quickly.
But Sarah wasn’t afraid.
Because hidden inside her hospital gown… was a tiny recording device.

Sarah woke up three days later.
Her side burned with pain.
Dave was alive.
His new kidney was functioning perfectly.
But something felt wrong.
The hospital room had changed.
There were security cameras everywhere.
And Dave’s behavior had changed too.
He seemed… distant.
Then one night, Sarah woke up to see Dave sitting at the window.
Talking quietly on the phone.
“I understand,” he said.
“I’ll complete the assignment.”
