Daniel looked like he had just seen a ghost.
For a moment, none of us spoke.
The girl looked from me… to him… and back to me again.
“You didn’t tell me your sister was visiting,” she said.

His voice sounded weak.
Uncertain.
I folded my arms.
“Sister, right?” I said slowly.
The girl’s eyes widened.
“You said you were his sister.”
I smiled bitterly.
“Yes… that was before I saw you.”
The room suddenly became very quiet.
The girl turned slowly toward Daniel.
“Wait…”
Her expression began to change.
“You told me you were single.”
Daniel ran his hand through his hair nervously.
“Listen… I can explain—”
“Explain what?” I snapped.
“Explain why you lied about traveling?”
Explain why another woman is wearing your clothes?
Or explain why your girlfriend had to pretend to be your sister just to enter your house?”
The girl stepped backward.
Her face was now pale.
“Girlfriend?”
Daniel closed his eyes.
And that was when I knew.
Everything.
The lies.
The secret.
The betrayal.
But what happened next…
Was something I never expected.
Because the girl suddenly looked at me and said something that completely changed the situation.
She said quietly:
“I think… we’ve both been lied to.”
