Episode 1: The Call That Changed Everything
My name is Henry Okafor.
I’m an Uber driver in Abuja, and in this job you meet all kinds of people. Some rude. Some quiet. Some drunk. Some who treat you like you’re invisible.
But sometimes… just sometimes… you meet people who treat you like family.
For six years, I drove Mr. Daniel Obi and his wife Mrs. Chioma Obi.

Airport runs.
Late-night pickups.
Business trips across the city.
They trusted me.
And I trusted them.
Mr. Obi was a quiet man in his late fifties. Always calm. Always polite. A businessman who owned several properties in Abuja.
His wife, Chioma, was different.
She was lively. Friendly. The kind of woman who would ask about your children and actually remember their names.
Every December, she would give me a Christmas envelope.
“Henry,” she would say, smiling, “thank you for always showing up.”
I respected them.
But everything changed one rainy night in August.
That night… I picked up a passenger who wasn’t supposed to be there.
And I didn’t even realize it until much later.
