President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across all states of the federation as part of a nationwide support initiative for citizens observing the Ramadan and Lenten seasons.
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodimma. According to him, the initiative is designed to demonstrate compassion and strengthen unity among Nigerians during a period of deep spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.

Uzodimma explained that the distribution will be coordinated through the organization’s grassroots network to ensure families across the country benefit from the gesture. The rice distribution will be carried out through state, local government, and ward-level structures to guarantee transparency and a wide reach.
He noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to national unity, compassion, and interfaith harmony.
“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s belief in charity and togetherness. Ramadan and Lent remind us of sacrifice, care, and support for one another. Through this effort, families across Nigeria will feel the spirit of solidarity during this sacred period,” Uzodimma said.

He added that the move follows a similar intervention during last year’s Christmas season, when rice was also distributed nationwide to support Nigerians celebrating the festive period.
According to him, the continued outreach highlights the government’s dedication to supporting citizens during key religious and cultural observances across the country.

This rice distribution is for political purposes. I also wish it goes round the people regardless of their political inclination. Nigeria we hail theee’.
