Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has called for information on the whereabouts of an elderly man accused of allegedly stealing mobile phones during the burial ceremony of late actor Cjay Nwok in Lagos.

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has raised an alarm over the alleged theft of mobile phones during a memorial event organized in honour of late actor Cjay Nwok in Lagos, declaring an elderly man wanted in connection with the incident.

Arukwe made the announcement in an Instagram post, alleging that the man attended the service of songs held for the late actor at a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Gbagada, Lagos State, before allegedly stealing mobile phones belonging to fellow actor Rex Kingsley.

In the post, Arukwe shared the man’s image and wrote, “This man is wanted,” while appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying his whereabouts.

According to the actor, CCTV footage reportedly captured the suspect during the alleged incident before he disappeared. The footage is said to form part of the information being used to seek assistance in identifying the individual.

Arukwe urged anyone who recognizes the man or has credible information about his identity or location to contact Rex Kingsley.

The development has drawn attention to concerns about personal belongings and security at public gatherings, including events organized to celebrate the lives and legacies of prominent figures in the entertainment industry.

The burial ceremony was held in honour of Cjay Nwok, whose passing brought members of the Nollywood community together to pay their last respects.

However, the allegation against the elderly man has not been independently verified, and no information has been provided in the account about an arrest or formal police action. The individual remains an alleged suspect, and the accusation should not be treated as proof of guilt.

Members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to contact the appropriate parties or report credible evidence to the relevant authorities rather than engage in public confrontation.
