Episode 2: The Call That Shouldn’t Exist
On the third night, we decided to stay awake.
Midnight came slowly.
The house was quiet.
Then suddenly—
Both phones started ringing again.
Exactly 12:00 midnight.
The screens were blank.
No number.
No name.
Just ringing.
My heart started beating faster.
This wasn’t normal.
We decided not to answer.
Instead, we silenced them again.
But something strange happened in the morning.
Tiny ants were crawling across the bedroom floor.
Hundreds of them.
We had never seen ants in our room before.
My wife swept them away quietly.
That was when I noticed something else.
The bedroom door was slightly open.
We never slept with the door open.
Never.
A cold feeling settled in my chest.
Something wasn’t right.
Later that afternoon, I decided to call my friend—the same one who had just buried his wife.
“Bro,” I said.
“Something strange has been happening since that night.”
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“Our phones ring every midnight. Both of them. But there’s never a number.”
There was a long pause.
Then he said quietly,
“Relax. Maybe it’s coincidence. Switch off your phones at night.”
That night we did exactly that.
Both phones were switched completely off.
Midnight came.
Then suddenly—
Both phones started ringing.
Even though they were switched off.
My blood ran cold.
This was impossible.
I slowly picked up the phone.
“Please don’t answer it,” my wife whispered.
But I had to know.
I pressed Answer.
At that exact moment—
The lights in the house went off.
To be continued!
