Episode 4: The Street With No Exit
It happened the third night.
By then, the voice had become familiar.
Not comforting.
Never that.
But expected.
Like a routine you couldn’t break.
The power went out again.
Of course it did.
It always does when it’s ready.
You told yourself you wouldn’t look this time.
You even turned away from the window.
Closed your eyes.
Covered your ears.
But the silence…
The silence is worse.
Because in that silence, your name sounds louder.
Closer.
Right beside you.
So you looked.
And this time—
The street wasn’t the same.
It was longer.
Much longer.
Your house was still there.
Your gate.
Your neighbor’s wall.
But beyond that—
Everything stretched.
The road extended into darkness, lined with streetlights.
Dozens of them.
Maybe hundreds.
All glowing.
All flickering.
All… occupied.
You stepped outside without thinking.
You didn’t even question it.
Because by now—
You were already being guided.
The moment your foot touched that road—
Something shifted.
The air became heavier.
The world behind you faded.
And when you turned back—
Your house was gone.
Just darkness.
Just the road.
And the lights.
Each one containing a figure.
Standing.
Watching.
Trapped.
Just like I am now.
To be continued…
