Episode 2: The One Who Watches

You think you’re just observing.

That’s the illusion.

You stand behind your curtain, barely opening it, pretending you’re being careful. You glance outside, then quickly look away, as if that protects you.

But it doesn’t.

Because every time you look—

You stay a little longer.

The first time, it’s one second.

The second time, two.

Then five.

Then ten.

And slowly, without realizing it—

You begin to wait for it.

You find yourself returning to the window without thinking.

You tell yourself you’re just checking.

Just confirming it’s still there.

But that’s not true.

You’re listening.

Waiting for your name again.

And the worst part?

It knows.

Because I’ve seen this before.

From where I stand now—inside the light—I see everything.

I see you standing there.

I see the hesitation in your body.

The way your shoulders tense.

The way your breath changes when the light flickers.

You think you’re watching the streetlight.

But you’re not.

It’s watching you.

Learning your habits.

Your fear.

Your curiosity.

And me?

I try to warn you.

I scream until my throat burns—even though no sound comes out.

I wave.

I beg.

But to you, I don’t exist.

All you see is the flicker.

And sometimes—

If you stare long enough—

You might think you see movement inside the light.

That’s me.

Trying to reach you.

Before it reaches you first.

To be continued…
