Madonna has appealed for help in recovering several vintage costume pieces that went missing following her surprise appearance at Coachella last weekend, describing the items as “part of my history.”

The Queen of Pop revealed on Instagram that a number of outfits—most notably the purple jacket, corset, dress, and boots she wore on stage—disappeared shortly after the California festival. The items held special significance, as she had originally worn the same ensemble during her Coachella performance two decades ago.

“These aren’t just clothes,” Madonna wrote. “They are part of my history.” She added that she is “offering a reward for their safe return” and expressed hope that “some kind soul” might come forward with information.

Madonna had joined singer Sabrina Carpenter on stage on Friday night for a surprise duet performance, where the pair sang hits including Vogue and Like A Prayer. The moment was particularly meaningful for the pop icon, who told the crowd it felt like a “full-circle moment.”

In addition to the Coachella outfit, several other pieces from Madonna’s personal archive dating back to the same era have also gone missing.

Authorities say the disappearance may not be the result of theft. In a statement, the Indio Police Department said the items were last seen on a golf cart at approximately 01:30 local time on Saturday. Investigators believe the bags may have fallen off while being transported across the festival grounds.

“There is no evidence to suggest the bags were intentionally stolen,” police noted.

The incident comes amid renewed excitement around Madonna’s career, as she also used the Coachella appearance to debut a new track from her upcoming album Confessions II, a sequel to her acclaimed 2005 release Confessions on a Dancefloor, due out in July.

As the search continues, fans and festival staff alike are being urged to keep an eye out for the missing items—pieces that, for Madonna, represent not just fashion, but legacy.
