After more than two months of intense competition, evictions, shifting alliances, unexpected twists and disciplinary actions, Big Brother Naija Season 11 is set to reach its grand finale on Sunday, with nine housemates remaining in the race for the coveted ₦160 million grand prize.
The “Show Ya Sef” edition, which premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates, has delivered a season filled with memorable moments and unexpected turns.
The nine finalists are Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram.
Gambit Twist Changes the Game
One of the season’s earliest major twists was the introduction of the Gambit format, which saw Aikou and Flora selected through public voting to remain in the competition until the finale.
However, under the initial rules, the two housemates were not eligible to win the grand prize.
That situation changed several weeks later when Big Brother ended their Gambit status, making both Aikou and Flora eligible to compete for the ₦160 million prize alongside the other housemates.
Their journey from Gambits to finalists has consequently become one of the notable storylines of the season.
HoH Dominance Did Not Guarantee the Finale
The season also witnessed several dominant Head of House (HoH) performances.
Chimsom Chuka became the first HoH of the season and later secured the title for a second time in Week Five.
Abi also emerged as a two-time HoH after winning the Week Four and Week Six challenges, while Barry joined the exclusive group after claiming the Week Eight HoH title and later winning the final HoH challenge.
Despite their dominance, however, holding the HoH position did not guarantee a place in the final week.
Abi’s journey ended in Week Seven when she was evicted alongside Araga, while Chimsom’s campaign came to an end during the Week Eight triple eviction alongside Yusuf and Bells.
Nomy’s Journey Ends After Disciplinary Action
Another major storyline involved Nomy, whose repeated clashes with Big Brother’s instructions eventually resulted in disciplinary action.
After several breaches, Nomy received what Big Brother described as her “last and final warning.”
However, her journey came to an end on September 7 after another breach involving her Benchwarmer duties led to the revocation of her participation privilege.
Her departure became one of the season’s most talked-about disciplinary moments.
Barry’s Ultimate Veto Creates Finale Shockwave
As the competition moved towards the final stages, Barry produced one of the biggest twists of the season.
After securing the Ultimate Veto Power, Barry chose “Immunity For All”, a decision that sent all 10 remaining housemates directly into the finale without a Week Nine eviction.
The move dramatically changed the dynamics of the competition and ensured that the entire remaining group would have an opportunity to fight for a place in the grand finale.
Keivo subsequently won the Week Nine HoH title, but his hopes of competing for the ₦160 million prize were short-lived.
Keivo Disqualified After Physical Confrontation
In the final week, a disagreement between Keivo and Tram over a black shirt escalated into a physical confrontation.
Following a review of the incident, Big Brother identified Keivo as the perpetrator and disqualified him from the competition on September 29.
His exit reduced the number of finalists to nine:
Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram.
Who Are Viewers Rooting For?
With the finale now approaching, attention has shifted from surviving nominations and evictions to the question of who has built the strongest connection with viewers.
The official voting figures for the current finalists have not been publicly broken down. However, several unofficial fan polls have offered glimpses into the varying levels of support enjoyed by some housemates.
Temi Nkem, for instance, recorded 31 per cent in an unofficial Week Three fan poll and subsequently topped another online poll among nominated housemates in Week Six.
However, these figures were generated by independent fan polls and should not be interpreted as official BBNaija voting results.
Ricky has also featured prominently in some unofficial online polls, although results vary depending on the platform, methodology and sample size.
Aikou and Flora also entered the competition with an interesting connection to the viewing public. Their selection as Gambits was determined through public voting, giving the pair an early indication of audience support before their eligibility to compete for the grand prize was restored.
Barry’s Influence on the Final Stretch
Barry’s journey has also become central to the final chapter of the season.
In addition to winning the Week Eight and final HoH titles, his decision to use the Ultimate Veto Power to grant immunity to every remaining housemate effectively reshaped the competition.
Instead of another eviction determining the final lineup, all 10 housemates were allowed to proceed towards the finale, before Keivo’s subsequent disqualification reduced the number to nine.
The Final Countdown
From Chimsom’s repeat HoH victories and Abi’s early dominance to Nomy’s disciplinary exit, Barry’s game-changing veto decision and Keivo’s dramatic disqualification, BBNaija Season 11 has produced no shortage of twists and memorable moments.
Now, after more than two months inside the Big Brother house, the competition has entered its final chapter.
Nine finalists remain.
One ₦160 million grand prize awaits.
And on Sunday, the power will ultimately rest with the viewers as they decide who will be crowned the winner of the “Show Ya Sef” season.
The question is no longer who can survive the Big Brother house — it is who viewers will choose to make the final champion.
