The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has unveiled the number of registered voters across various states ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, disclosed the figures during the commission’s World Press Conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the figures released by the electoral commission, Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters with 7,488,633, followed by Kano State with 6,000,570.
Kaduna State ranks third with 4,000,640 registered voters, while Katsina State occupies fourth position with 3,876,051.
Oyo State comes fifth with 3,588,111 registered voters, followed by Delta State with 3,525,988.
Rivers State has 3,000,734 registered voters, while Benue State records 3,057,225.
Ogun State ranks ninth with 3,037,981 registered voters, while Bauchi State completes the top ten with 3,000,047 registered voters.

The figures provide an indication of the distribution of registered voters across some of Nigeria’s most populous states as political parties and candidates prepare for the 2027 general elections.
Lagos, with more than 7.4 million registered voters, remains the state with the largest voter population among those listed, potentially making it a major electoral battleground ahead of the 2027 polls.
As preparations continue, INEC is expected to provide further updates on the electoral register and other arrangements ahead of the general election.
