ABUJA — The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has donated a brand-new, bulletproof Lexus SUV to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Hon. Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, to support the party’s logistics and campaign activities.
The vehicle was presented at Matawalle’s private residence in Abuja, in the presence of APC executive members, party supporters and well-wishers.
According to a statement issued by Comrade Yusuf Idris Gusau, Publicity Secretary of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee (MPSC), the minister was represented at the presentation by the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani.
Vehicle to support APC mobilisation in Zamfara
Speaking during the presentation, Danfulani said the donation was intended to ease the chairman’s transportation challenges and improve his ability to coordinate party activities across Zamfara State.
He explained that the state’s difficult terrain made reliable transportation essential for party leaders travelling to different communities.
According to the minister’s representative, the SUV would enable Moyi to move around the state more effectively while mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, Governor Dauda Lawal and other APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Matawalle also commended the Zamfara APC leadership under Moyi for its efforts to mobilize members and supporters at different levels. He expressed confidence in the chairman’s leadership and assured the party of his continued support.
The minister further disclosed that the Lexus SUV was equipped with bulletproof features, which he said would provide additional security and enable the vehicle to navigate major roads across the country.
He congratulated Moyi on receiving the vehicle and offered prayers for his safety and a smooth driving experience.
APC chairman pledges to deploy SUV for campaigns
In his response, Moyi expressed appreciation to Matawalle for the donation, describing it as a gesture of support for the party’s activities.
He pledged to put the vehicle to effective use, particularly in supporting the party’s ongoing presidential and governorship campaign mobilization efforts in Zamfara State and beyond.
The donation comes amid preparations by political parties for the 2027 general elections, with APC leaders in Zamfara stepping up efforts to strengthen party structures and organize grassroots mobilization.
