Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have foiled the movement of suspected Boko Haram terrorists during a night ambush in Yobe State, arresting four suspects.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Captain Mohammed Goni.
According to the military, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force, laid an ambush east of Azare Village in Gujba Local Government Area at about 11 p.m. on September 21.
The troops reportedly made contact with the suspected terrorists and engaged them in a firefight.
Four suspects were subsequently arrested during an exploitation of the area, while blood traces discovered around the scene indicated possible casualties among fleeing terrorist elements, according to the military.

Troops also recovered four bicycles, a large quantity of groceries, one sheep and expended 7.62mm ammunition cases.
In a separate operation in Buni Yadi, also in Gujba Local Government Area, troops arrested nine suspected drug dealers during a routine patrol on September 19.
The suspects were allegedly found with a large quantity of suspected illicit drugs and cannabis, two mobile phones and ₦85,900 in cash.

The suspects have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for further investigation.
The military says the latest operations form part of wider successes recorded between September 15 and 22, including the surrender of 11 suspected terrorists and the recovery of a vehicle, ammunition and other logistics items.
Operation Hadin Kai says it remains committed to sustaining pressure on terrorist and criminal networks and restricting their freedom of movement across the North East.
