ILORIN, KWARA STATE — The Kwara State Chapter of the All-Nigeria Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers (ANCEDRAM) is set to stage a thought-provoking movie, “Failing Rank,” as part of activities marking Drama Explosion 2026 in Ilorin.
The production, directed by Sesan Afolayan, is expected to explore critical themes surrounding power, authority, corruption, courage and the struggle for truth, while challenging audiences to reflect on what happens when those entrusted with responsibility lose their sense of duty.
With the provocative question, “Who will stand when the rank begins to fail?”, the production seeks to present a dramatic examination of authority and the consequences of its abuse.
According to the organizers, Failing Rank is designed to take audiences through a gripping story filled with tension, conflict and moral questions, ultimately asking whether truth can survive when institutions and individuals entrusted with power begin to fail.
The movie will be presented by ANCEDRAM, Kwara State Chapter, as part of Drama Explosion 2026, an event aimed at using drama and creative expression to communicate important social and moral messages.
The production is scheduled to hold on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Art & Culture Centre, Geri-Alimi Roundabout, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Speaking on the event, Elder Olumide Dadson, Chairman of the Drama Explosion Committee, is inviting members of the public to attend the production and experience the message behind the movie.
The Chairman of ANCEDRAM, Kwara State Chapter, Adedare John Olusegun (AJO), who is also the announcer for the event, described the production as an opportunity for audiences to experience drama with a message while reflecting on the responsibilities that come with positions of authority.
The organizers are urging residents of Ilorin and surrounding communities to turn out for the event and witness “Failing Rank”.
The central question remains:
“When the rank fails… will the truth survive?”
