Nigerian reality star and actress, Bisola Aiyeola, has opened up about the emotional and psychological struggles she faced after discovering she would become a single mother.
In a candid interview with Tope Olowoniyan, the movie star revealed that the experience left her deeply traumatised, especially given her family background.

According to Aiyeola, she was overwhelmed with fear and shame upon realizing she was pregnant out of wedlock. At the time, she had been engaged and believed marriage would follow, but things did not go as planned.
“I was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and having a baby out of wedlock. I thought I was going to get married because I was engaged at that time but we never got married,” she said.
The actress explained that her fears were intensified by the fact that her own mother was also a single parent. She worried that the situation might become a generational pattern, potentially affecting her daughter as well.
“It was so shameful because my mum was a single mum and I am about to become one. I feared my child might also have the same fate,” she added.

Beyond the emotional burden, Aiyeola disclosed that her family’s financial situation at the time made the reality even harder to accept. She admitted struggling to bond with her newborn initially, including difficulties with breastfeeding, as she grappled with accepting her new life.
However, with time, the 40-year-old said she gradually embraced motherhood and developed a deep love and appreciation for her daughter.
Reflecting on her journey, Aiyeola expressed gratitude for her child and the life lessons that came with the experience, noting that what once felt like a burden has become one of her greatest blessings.
