The Kebbi State Police Command has presented cheques totalling ₦11,400,252.35 to 18 beneficiaries and next-of-kin of deceased police officers under the Nigeria Police Force’s Group Life Assurance (GLA) and Group Personal Accident (GPA) insurance schemes.
The presentation, held in Birnin Kebbi, was part of the Force’s efforts to support families of personnel who died in active service.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the development in a statement made available to newsmen.
According to Usman, the cheques were presented by the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Umar M. Hadejia, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the IGP and the Force Management Team to the welfare of police officers and their families.
He also acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of the deceased officers, stressing that their service to the nation remained appreciated and would not be forgotten.
He said the insurance benefits would provide meaningful financial support to the families left behind.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Force Management Team and the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police for the payment.
They described the gesture as evidence of the continued commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of families of deceased personnel.
