The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode among prominent figures included in the leadership structure.
The list, released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, outlines the composition of the party’s Governance Advisory Council and Campaign Council as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
Prince Tajudeen Olusi is listed as Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Governor Sanwo-Olu will serve as Advisory Council Chairman. Former Governor Babatunde Fashola and former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode are named as co-chairmen.

Other prominent figures listed in the advisory structure include President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
The structure also names Ojelabi Cornelius as Vice Chairman I, Obasa as Vice Chairman II, and Damilola Sonayon James as Vice Chairman III.
At the campaign council level, Governor Sanwo-Olu is designated as chairman, while his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, will serve as deputy chairman.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has been named Director-General of the campaign council. Rasaq Ajala will serve as Deputy Director-General, while Adekunle Olayinka is listed as Campaign Secretary.
The campaign structure comprises several directorates and committees assigned responsibilities covering different areas of the electioneering process.
Among the areas listed are legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
The unveiling comes as the Lagos APC steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.
According to the released structure, Hamzat has emerged as the party’s governorship candidate, with Damilola Sonayon-James named as his running mate.
The formal inauguration of the campaign council is scheduled for Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
The inauguration is expected to formally set the campaign machinery in motion as the party prepares for the 2027 electoral cycle.
