The Emir of Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, has called on religious leaders and their followers across the country to return to God and intensify prayers for divine intervention in Nigeria’s persistent security challenges.
The Emir made the appeal at his palace during the weekly post-Jumu’at special prayers organized for peace, unity and development in the country.
The development was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, also known as Sardaunan Zuru, in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, the special prayers have remained a regular practice in the Zuru Emirate since the Emir assumed office, reflecting the traditional institution’s concern over peace and security in the country.
The Emir said the renewed call for prayers had become necessary despite ongoing efforts by governments and security agencies to address insecurity.

He noted that considerable resources, personnel and expert interventions had been deployed to tackle security challenges, but the persistence of the problem required Nigerians to complement physical measures with sincere spiritual devotion.
“Let us wholeheartedly return to Allah (SWT) through our various religious leaders for divine intervention, alongside the physical efforts being made by our leaders,” the Emir said.
He also stressed the importance of continued prayers for peace, unity and development, while commending efforts by the Kebbi State Government to address insecurity and promote sustainable development across the state.

The special prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Zuru, Suleiman Muhammad Tanko Liman, alongside the Sarkin Mallaman Zuru, Musa Balarabe, and other prominent Islamic scholars in the emirate.
The Emir urged Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to remain committed to peace and collectively support efforts aimed at restoring security and stability across the country.
