Kano, Nigeria – Abba Kabir Yusuf has relieved Wada Sagagi of his duties as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, with immediate effect. The announcement was made on Thursday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, Sagagi has been directed to hand over the affairs of the ministry to the Director of Commerce immediately. The decision is part of the administration’s effort to strategically align government structures to ensure systematic growth and sustainable development in the state.
The Governor acknowledged Sagagi’s contributions to Kano State, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, and the promotion of small and medium enterprises. He expressed gratitude for the former Commissioner’s services and wished him success in his future endeavors, while reassuring the public of his administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery and good governance.
Sagagi, a close associate of the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was previously redeployed from the position of Chief of Staff to the Governor to his current role as Commissioner. He has also served as State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party and played a pivotal role in the NNPP’s success in the 2023 general elections.
