Two persons have been killed by suspected gunmen at a mining site around Kuru Jenta in Heipang District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday while the victims were carrying out activities at the mining site.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, BYM, Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the incident and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the attackers.

Tengwong described the killings as unfortunate and urged the relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident, identify those responsible and ensure that they are brought to justice.
He also cautioned residents, particularly miners, against engaging in mining activities at night, urging them to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to security measures put in place by the government.
A resident of the affected community, Mrs Bulus Weng, also confirmed the incident and appealed to residents to desist from night mining.
Weng condemned the killings, noting that the victims were at the mining site during the curfew imposed by the Plateau State Government.

She urged residents to respect the restricted hours, remain vigilant and avoid activities that could expose them to security risks.
